Ok so I have heard that there is a possibility that 2 of the reactors have melted down, and that they are now releasing steam into the atmosphere as well as dumping saltwater in to cool it all down. Could this be a second Chernobyl? Not likely but it could be something a bit lighter.

One of the things about Chernobyl was the fact that there was no concrete enclosure housing the core. So when the core went, it spewed directly into the air. We've never lost containment on a Western-designed reactor. It could be that the concrete cap contains the core or it could just add more particulate matter that rains down on us as fallout. I'm a bit curious myself as to which it might be.
The fact that they're venting steam and dousing the core with seawater is a worrying thing. It's basically a last ditch effort to cool the core down before it goes critical. It's basically the last card they can play. Now all we can do is wait and see.
