Funny how it's causing a ripple effect across the muslim world, I guess they're finally tired of being under the thumb of dictators, unfortunately I think we put half of them in power, oops

The Iranians are trying to revolt again, but they are getting stopped every time they try. The middle east is boiling over, I wonder how long till other dictatorships are toppled. I would love to see china destroy itself.

China isn't a dictatorship. It's a single-party state

China isn't a dictatorship. It's a single-party state Oligarchy, Autocracy, the name doesn't matter, the effects are all the same. The people are kept under the thumb of the elite, at least until the people get tired of it. Then they usually allow a new elite to rule over them until they get tired of it. The ancient Chinese had a term "Mandate of Heaven" to explain this phenomenon. Enlightenment philosophers had a different term "social contract" to explain the same thing. What they both miss is that government is not the natural state of the human race. Liberty is. Until we establish societies that enshrine that basic principle, we'll see revolution after revolution ad infinitum.
