Not to plug my own TEOTWAWKI forum, but with nearly 1500 posts (of mine) there, i can't really get around linking to it.
I've covered the matter of 'zombies' there, in the sense that i believe it not only a serious matter, but actually one of the most serious matters related to surviving a collapse of civilization and it's aftermath.
3 posts there:
- CDC warns Americans to prepare for zombie apocalypse
- it takes 15 days to turn cannibal
- iodine deficiency and schizofrenia
Though dramatic, amusing, and unnerving cinematic renditions of zombies don't take the matter seriously, they do serve to give an approximation of the extent and measure of threat unprepared folk will represent post-apocalypse. But, actually, it will be WORSE!
Unprepared folk represent an INTELLIGENT threat that's actually more dangerous than mere astronomical or cosmic destruction. Frankly, i believe most people will survive what's coming but in the end, the only ones who make it through will be the lucky, the ruthless, and the TRULY prepared.
Know thyself, know thine enemy. It always boils down to this.
You'll find a lot more on what is known (after 200 years of serious research) about mankind, the psyche, and how people deal with extreme situations. You'd do well to check it out.
